Want to Learn More?
GGU Law’s faculty of distinguished scholars and practitioners are recognized experts in their fields. Generous with their time and talent, our professors offer students a nuanced understanding of both the theory and practice of law.
In these webinar excerpts, hear from the Director of the JD Flex program and some of the professors you’ll learn from.
Professor Anna Benvenue, Director of the JD Flex Program
Professor Anna Benvenue is an associate professor of law at GGU. She teaches civil procedure and is the director of the JD Flex program. Take a look at Professor Benvenue’s faculty spotlight article to learn more about her.
“The opportunity to direct the JD Flex program is what brought me home to GGU. JD Flex is an amazing program that allows students to obtain their law degree in only 4 years and the format is provided in a way that is much more attainable than a part-time evening program. It is such an honor to be a part of this program that allows me to help guide a new generation of lawyers.”
Professor Eric C. Christiansen
Professor Eric Christiansen teaches several courses related to constitutional law and directs the summer Paris program, which is available to JD Flex students.
“We’ve redesigned our courses for JD Flex. We don’t do this because it’s more convenient, although you may choose these courses because they’re more convenient. We do this because it’s a better way to teach. We’ve done the same rework for our full-time courses. It’s the future of legal education.”
Professor Samuel Ernst
Professor Samuel Ernst teaches contracts and intellectual property law in the JD Flex program.
“When you study intellectual property you learn about patents, which protect useful inventions. You learn about copyright, which protects artistic expression, books, and movies. And you learn about trademarks, which protect brand names or trade secrets or secret commercial information, and which are very important here in San Francisco and Silicon Valley.”
Professor William Gallagher
Professor William Gallagher is an Associate Professor and Co-Director of the IP Law Center at the Golden Gate University School of Law, where he teaches courses on intellectual property litigation, intellectual property law, torts, and legal ethics.
“JD Flex is a fantastic way to be able to go to law school. The weekend flexibility is fantastic and facilitates much deeper learning.”
